Plan for the script - P3

Making decisions:

I believe that the start of the story would work well for the script because it has a lot more dialogue as there are more characters compared to the rest of the film. The film starts with the main character visiting their grandmother however she had passed away shortly before they arrived. They rush her to the hospital however it is too late. Not long after she dies the main character inherits a large box of unknown origin. They open to box to find that it is filled with unfamiliar and oddly unnerving cutlery. The segment of the scripts ends with the main character viewing the first incident.

Learning from examples:

How is tension created in my section: tension is first created when the Chris' grandmother dies at the start of the film. Tension is also created when Chris receives the box and the abnormal events start.

How is tension created in A Quiet Place: in segment 62 the scene consists of Evelyn giving birth in a bath while she is being hunted by one of the creatures. This alone creates tension however the fact that the creature only uses sound to hunt and navigate its surroundings creates more tension as Evelyn is forced to give birth in silence if she wishes to stay alive.

Developing the angle of my concept:

Character development - Chris' character tries to find reason in the strange phenomenons as he is strong in his belief against the paranormal however after the final encounter he starts to believe which eventually leads to his death. This is because as soon as he starts to believe that it is possibly a paranormal encounter it results in him going into a blind panic whereas before he was a calm and logical person.

Meaning - The meaning of the film is that someones personality and way of life is built on what they believe in. At the start of the film Chris is a level headed and logical person however one all of his beliefs had been turned against him he becomes the opposite of what he once was.
